Wolf vs Incineroar

Message from MKF4

Hello again everyone, MK here. We’re here with another round of predictions, this time for Incineroar vs. Wolf. Please note that due to the busy schedules of several users we did not prepare a stat table or bios for the fighters. This time it will only be written predictions by a handful of users on the Smash Bracket Discord server. Regardless, I hope you all enjoy the predictions and the episode when it releases.

The Waver

Hello everyone! After the success of Ice Climbers vs Duck Hunt Trio, I have returned to the prediction blog! This time I will be predicting Wolf vs Incineroar.

First off, this is a wonderful matchup that Ink has put together. This is the classic cat vs dog mu, and i wouldn't have it any other way. As for who wins? Well despite what some may believe, this actually isn't that one sided! Most people would just assume that the Wolfen will destroy him, and to be honest i was originally thinking that. I was also thinking of just having my prediction be a picture of the Wolfen II but I'll save an idea like that for a different fight. But that is not the case, as why would Wolf be using the Wolfen when he has the superior Wolfen II?

Anyways, first we have to consider the versatility of these fighters. Wolf wields many impressive weapons such as the Plasma Cannon, the Fireburst Pod, and the fabled Demon Sniper. But do not count Incineroar out yet! Incineroar has tons of feats and moves from Pokémon, such as Stomping Tantrum, Brutal Swing, and his signature move, Darkest Lariat. Regardless, it is safe to say that Incineroar would easily overpower Wolf in a normal one on one fight. But that’s where the vehicles come in. These vehicles range from the Wolfen to the Hunter to the Wolfen II. The Wolfen flew across the entire Lylat System (which is much larger than our own solar system) in about half a second, and in the comics it traveled a light year in the time it took Fox and Falco to say a couple of sentences. This is INSANELY fast and it would be useable since the Arwings were made to be able to fight at their top speeds. So with the Arwings, Travel speed=Combat speed. And it’s likely that the Wolfens will get the same treatment. However not all hope is lost for Incineroar.

Incineroar does have a few

win cons, because if Incineroar can just hit Wolf with a bunch of status effects before he gets into the Wolfen II, it will be easy for him to secure a win. But will he be able to do what he needs to accomplish a victory over Wolf O' Donnell? My answer is........ No. I do not think that Incineroar will be able to defeat Wolf. While Incineroar is certainly superior to Wolf himself, Wolf's large arsenal of weapons from Star Fox Assault will give him the time he needs to survey the threat and call in his ship. While Incineroar is a powerful combatant and a great character, I will have to be putting my vote on Wolf O'Donnell. But regardless of the victor, one thing is for certain. This is gonna be a match to remember! I look forward to witnessing the Vs Debut of Wolf and Incineroar, and I hope that you do as well. I'll see you there!

Da Lunge Fish

Heya, Silver Lunge Fish here as usual predicting smash bracket, the debate show. Today’s prediction is a wolf against a tiger. Tiger is stronger, so Incineroar wins- hah, you really thought that was my reasoning? The real reason is that Incineroar is my second main! But on a serious note, Wolf sadly takes it. Incineroar is very strong, judging on how he nukes the arena, along with higher lifting strength and skill. Wolf, however, is simply too damn fast, with him being able to pilot the ship, which is also multi continental btw. Combine this with Wolf’s superior arsenal and intelligence, and you’ve got yourself a fried cat for dinner.

CalTonTheRobot

Wolf wins dude come on, I don't know much Pokemon, but I have exactly ZERO reason to believe Incineroar will actually be fast enough or smart enough to beat him before he enters the Wolfen. Incineroar Sweep memes may be hilarious, but I don't think anyone actually believes that unironically, Also Wolfen's Fire head thing from Starlink is awesome, and the idea of Wolf Voring Incineroar is far more interesting of an ending than whatever lame fire shit Incineroar has stored up. And should I even have to mention how the Wolfen made it from one galaxy spot to the next in a few seconds in Star Fox 2? Yeah I didn't think so. #WolfSweep

Overall thoughts on this matchup.

This seems like another Kirby vs Puff, let me explain. Kirby vs Puff is mainly a battle of stats vs haxes. Yes, Puff could out-hax Kirby, but Kirby has overall better stats. I feel like it’s the same with but replace Kirby with Wolf and a Spaceship. Well best get onto win-cons for both.

Incineroar’s win-cons

OK, let’s get 1 thing out of the way. In Greninja vs Diddy Kong, they stated that Greninja’s stat lowering moves can’t work on Diddy’s guns, so the odds are the same applies to the wolfen 2. The best way that Incineroar could win is by preventing the wolfen 2 from showing up. But I don’t know how he summons it. But 1 move could save Incineroar:lick Embargo. This could possibly remove all of Wolf’s items leaving it only to be a hand to hand fight where Incineroar could hax him from there.

Wolf’s win-cons

I don’t think I need to say anymore.

Hello again everyone, MKF4 here, as you probably guessed from the label and image of one Pinkie Pie.

This time around we have Wolf vs. Incineroar, and I can already hear half of the audience groaning about how we’re getting another Pokèmon battle. I suppose we have gotten quite a few, but it’s been a long time since we last got the last one so I don’t mind very much.

Of course, some things never change, and once again the general audience is ready to see Pokèmon get yet another loss handed to it. Not that Pokèmon is a particularly weak series, but I don’t think many of us expected them to be able to take down the likes of Kirby or Sephiroth. They just get a lot of really bad matchups.

And continuing on our trend of some things never changing, Pokèmon is getting stuck with a really bad matchup. There are a few things to break down though.

Unlike with Kirby or Sephiroth, who pretty much just annihilate their opponents the second they get their hands on them, Wolf won’t be winning this so quickly. In a hand-to-hand fight, I actually think Wolf is at the disadvantage. Incineroar has a frankly massive movepool of physical attacks that it can utilize to pummel Wolf and has far more experience and skill going at it up close. In a scenario where the two are fighting up close and personal, I actually think Incineroar will be claiming victory more times than not.

The problem is Wolf’s range game.

Incineroar has little to no ways to stop Wolf from just playing away and sniping the wrestler however he sees fit. Wolf is coming to this fight armed with a solid list of weapons and tools to utilize, and this gives him a huge amount of control over how the fight is paced and who does what. While Wolf will have to be careful not to let Incineroar catch him, he has plenty of tools and the skills needed to keep the Alolan fighter at bay as needed and eventually either whittle him down or secure a critical shot.

While Incineroar will be Level 100 and helped by trainer instruction, Wolf has engaged in more than enough fights to know what he needs to do and also be able to get the job done. Overall, I would say the two are likely about even in skill and experience, though I would personally give intelligence and strategy to Wolf. Pokèmon training certainly brings one against some insanely powerful enemies, but Incineroar is stuck going up against a successful mercenary leader who consistently keeps away from the long arm of the law, has fought his way through his fair share of wars, and ultimately came out on top when all things were said and done. (Well, I suppose that depends on what canon you prefer for Star Fox but I’m just going to roll with it. Star Fox canon is very confusing.)

As of right now, the fight is actually pretty close. Incineroar takes close combat, Wolf wins distance fighting, and both are about even in experience and skill, though Wolf is smarter. As of right now I would say Wolf just edges out by a hair.

And then there’s the Wolfen.

Yep, forget the debate. That thing torches Incineroar and the wrestler has no reliable counter to it. With some luck Incineroar could potentially remove Wolf from it on very rare occasions, but that still puts us in ground combat that I already feel Wolf barely wins. The Wolfen just turns Wolf’s close shave into a dominant victory for the mercenary. I give my personal vote and prediction to Wolf.

Have a great day and enjoy the episode!
