YoSHI
BACKGROUND
After going on holiday to Dinosaur Land, Peach was (once again) kidnapped by Bowser. But this time, shortly after setting out to rescue her, they came across a dinosaur like creature. The Yoshi, named Yoshi, helped the Mario Bros. rescue the princess, and they helped him rescue all of his friends that had been trapped in eggs by the Koopa Kids. From then on, Yoshi would appear both as an individual and as a species to help Mario out, from transporting him as a baby to his parents after the stork carrying the brothers were attacked by Bowser's forces to allowing Mario to possess him through Cappy in order to pass some platforming challenges. And with a strong tongue coupled with a seemingly insatiable appetite, Yoshi can certainly pull his weight while adventuring.

VERDICTS
NIKODY
Ok, So for the next battle (Banjo & Kazooie Vs. Yoshi). I think that Banjo may win. First of all Kazooie is able to lift up banjo and fly, this gives him the aerial advantage against yoshi. Another thing, Banjo can use Kazooie as a gun of some sort which can shoot eggs out of her mouth. Anyways another thing banjo can do is use his grenades. I am not good at predictions but I think Banjo might win.
ADVERT
Alright, so, Yoshi is physically superior to Banjo and Kazooie. Even when including questionable feats, Yoshi still has enough power to end Banjo in a single hit. If you wanted to include questionable scaling to that meteor Banjo dodged to say he’s mach 5, you could do the same for Yoshi by scaling him to Mario, who has a very similar and arguably more valid feat. And considering Yoshi can literally use a cap to transform into the Mario Bros, this scaling is more reasonable.
Banjo has a very wide and versatile arsenal, as well as a number of transformations. However, Yoshi counters with many of his own. The dude can become a car and a helicopter.
Honestly, not much to say, the boys can explain better than me.
PAPA SMURF
Before I get into this, do be aware that there will be no bias in this prediction. With that out of the way, this is a clear cut Yoshi win. Whatever Banjo and Kazooie have Yoshi either matches, counters or outright ignores it. In phsyical attack power Yoshi has in advantage, Durability is the same and in Speed he obliterates. Now that already would give him the win but lets compare some of the others. In Intelligence, while Banjo and Kazooie are portrayed as lazy, they still have enough knowledge to create functional vehicles and solve different types of puzzles but at the same time Yoshi does that, and sometimes more excluding the vehicle building part, all the time. Even looking at combat experience, Yoshi is extremely higher than the duo. He’s been fighting Bowser since he was a baby and has battled opponents with exceptionally high skill levels consistently. Baby yoshis have even been shown to keep up with people like Mario in combat fresh out of the egg. At close and long range Banjo would have a hard time keeping up. Finally, we have items and hax, and Yoshi has so much stuff he would debatably win even if you took away all of his phsyical stats. Transmutation hits Banjo hard since turning into other things is one of their main gimmicks, so any immunity or resistance is lost (Yoshi even has a resistance due to him turning back after a certain amount of time) and Yoshi practically bathes in transmutation items. Bubble sealing will take banjo out and Yoshi’s own transformations will be a struggle to deal with. There are so many win conditions Yoshi has while Banjo realistically only has a few and those aren’t foolproof at all. He could trap Yoshi in his backpack but he’d need to take kazooie out of his backpack, leaving him limited, and actually grab Yoshi. Waiting Yoshi out with wonderwing won’t work since A. Yoshi’s stamina can last for days and B. He has options to match that. Finally grabbing Yoshi with their wrench and holding him there. Just like the backpack they would have to grab Yoshi first and that’s a struggle on its own, along with the fact that they need to hold Yoshi without him escaping, and eventually they’ll be open for a counter. Or he just uses an item like the everything pow and turn them into a star while in their grasp. All In all, Yoshi just has more viable options to take the win more often than Banjo and Kazooie could dream of.
MKF4
Greetings everyone, MKF4 here again with another prediction. This time around I’m predicting for Banjo-Kazooie vs. Yoshi.
How does this fight go under most rulesets?
Well, I would curl up on my couch, grab the remote, and say…
There’s literally no contest under most rulesets, Yoshi just annihilates Banjo and Kazooie. It’s honestly pretty brutal. However, this is Smash Bracket, so we actually have some questions and a debate we can address. That being said, I think the winner is pretty clear cut this time around. Or at least more than usual, but not to the same level as when Kirby and Sephiroth destroyed Pokèmon.
Getting started, we’ll dive right into everyone’s favorite term in VS. Debating, the lousy annoying stat triangle. Looking through the data that’s been found, it appears that Yoshi should have a massive edge.
From what I know, Banjo’s best feat would be shattering a massive stone formation in Banjo-Tooie with a Grenade Egg. Frankly, this doesn’t surprise me at all, I expected the Grenade Eggs to be some of his best weapons in this fight. That being said, Yoshi should have him beat in spades. As Advert noted, the shattering was not a violent fragmentation, so it wouldn’t yield that many watts of power. Yoshi has a handful of AP feats that surpass it. For example, we have that one weird incident with the raven and the moon that I’m not sure Bracket will buy. Or more realistically, destroying brick blocks with egg launching, Eggdozer destruction power, etc.
Speed isn’t a contest in most scenarios Bracket will likely present, the Dash Pepper and Super Yoshi absolutely destroy any speed stats Banjo or Kazooie can output.
Finally, we have durability. Banjo survived getting crushed by a trash compactor, and Advert still hasn’t given me the calculation for watts.
LATER…
Alright, I got the calcs from Advert at last, and it comes out to 35KW/cm2.
That’s nice, but Yoshi’s raw output alone should be enough to surpass this durability feat.
So yeah, I feel Yoshi comfortably wins the stat-triangle without much to any issue whatsoever.
“But wait a minute, MK! Does Banjo have some sort of crazy hax that could totally change the fight in his favor?”
Yeah, no need to say anything else. Doesn’t help that all the transformations are down the drain due to needing outside help.
That being said, Banjo does have extra equipment. He’s got an army of vehicles. What do those vehicles do?
Well, they get around faster, so they really will help Banjo in the mobility game. It helps that the Wrench will let Banjo summon a vehicle whenever he needs one, so he might have an overall advantage there. Maybe, we’ll get to that.
Problem is, the vehicles don’t really do much else. They’re kind of like Wario’s vehicles in the last fight. They let Banjo close a gap and travel, but they can’t do too much in a fight. They have some useless hax like tech manipulation, which is worthless in this fight.
Don’t get me wrong, the vehicles have some useful stuff, like a flamethrower, just not anything that’ll be a major gamechanger. Elemental attacks are nice, but Yoshi deals with that sort of thing all the time. Forcefields are useful, but given Bracket’s ruleset, Yoshi should be able to break them.
And finally, Yoshi has reliable ways to stop the vehicles. Let’s talk about Yoshi’s hax and abilities.
In short, the tongue. That thing is really useful for getting rid of stuff Banjo can use. A Grenade Egg? Yoshi can grab it and promptly blast Banjo. Other projectiles? Same thing. Banjo brings out a literal car?
Well… Yoshi can’t exactly just eat them right off the bat, but…
Thanks to Advert’s math, we know the Giant Shy Guys Yoshi eats to make Eggdozers are just a bit smaller than the average Banjo vehicles. Meaning under usual circumstances, Yoshi can’t eat them. Problem is, if we’re giving Banjo everything, Yoshi gets everything.
And that includes mushrooms.
Yep, Yoshi gets way bigger and should reasonably be able to eat bigger stuff. If he doesn’t just step on the vehicles, he can eat them and turn them into Eggdozers. Even without eating the vehicles, Yoshi could still reasonably handle them most of the time. The Dash Pepper, Winged Yoshi, and Super Yoshi allow him to keep up in the mobility game and perhaps surpass the vehicles. Fire breath allows Yoshi to handle elemental attacks with his own. Watermelons allow Yoshi to keep up with his own projectiles. Transformations allow Yoshi to turn into vehicles himself. In short, anything Banjo and Kazooie can do, Yoshi can likely do, but Yoshi’s got stuff Banjo can’t do. And the skill and experience gap is enormous. Yoshi’s been on loads of adventures, while Banjo is frankly lazy. Some might say Yoshi is lazy as well, given the peaceful life he craves, but I will counter that. There is a difference between peaceful yet ready to do battle the instant you are needed and being so lazy you lost literally all of your powers. Yoshi is far more skilled, experienced, and capable.
So, does Banjo have any chance whatsoever in this fight? I think he could pull it off, but I personally doubt it. Wonderwing and Banjo’s projectiles help, but Yoshi can manage that. The vehicles help, but Yoshi can handle them as well. And Banjo is facing a stat-stomp against someone who actually gets to use their transformations and power ups, a serious uphill battle.
Given how Bracket works, I could very well have missed a feat or something that enables Banjo to win, and I’ll be fine with that, though I’m personally rooting for Yoshi. But from what I’ve seen and looked through, I personally feel that the mean green dino machine should come out the victor in this clash.
When these warriors battle and soar through the air,
There will be no victory for bird and bear!
Yoshi’s skill is just too great,
His victory will be first-rate!
