Introduction: A message from MKF4
Hello, everyone. MKF4 here, co-founder of the Smash Bracket Prediction Blog.
I apologize to inform you that today’s blog will not be quite as professional as it has been in past editions of our little blog. Unfortunately, my fellow co-founder, Advert, has departed from the Smash Bracket Discord server, at least for the moment. Advert usually performed the task of looking through character statistics and creating calculations for us to use in our predictions.
With the Battle Royale releasing soon, we’ve had to somewhat throw this blog together at the last minute. Thankfully, many of my good friends have come together to address your predicting needs, and we have done our best to ensure you have the information you need to make your own prediction on the battle. That being said, we don’t have access to a concise form of gathering and sharing data. As a result, our predictions may wildly differ from one another, though in fairness this is a Battle Royale.
Regardless, I would like to thank everyone who made a prediction for today’s blog for helping me out on such short notice. The Smashor, Loinut, Robot972, HylianKirbo, and even show co-creator Reallemon have all done a stellar job and we hope you enjoy our work.
And if you ever read this Advert, we all wish you the best.
Now then, let’s get into the prediction blog!
Steve:
Steve is the classic playable star of Minecraft. Being around since the beginning, Steve is an experienced builder and crafter. He is ultimately more fun-loving than his counterpart Alex, but his skill in building and design is second to none.
Alex:
Alex is the counterpart to Steve, an experienced warrior and fighter. She is more serious than Steve, and is much better at fighting and combat. However, her crafting and building skills aren’t quite as high as Steve’s are.
Zombie:
While Creepers are undoubtedly the most famous monster in the game, Zombies are the most common. Zombies show up at night, ready to attack the player on sight. In general, they aren’t too much of a threat, but rare spawns can give them armor, call upon allies for backup, and other useful traits. Players should always ensure they don’t underestimate these ever-spawning enemies.
Enderman:
An enormous, towering mob with its gleaming purple eyes, Enderman is actually a neutral mob. Your fate isn’t instantly sealed if you come across one, so long as you don’t make the mistake of looking them face-to-face. If aggravated, Enderman becomes a lethal threat, armed with the powers of teleportation, a massive size-advantage, and the ability to evade any projectiles Steve or Alex try to use against it.
Advantages and Disadvantages:
Steve:
+ Likely the smartest fighter.
+ Skill in building could give him the ability to make some detailed devices or tools to help him
+ As a player character, Steve is armed with a huge variety advantage, such as diamond tools and the Totem of Undying.
+ As a skilled potion maker, Steve should have the highest access to stat-buffs and ways to debuff his enemies.
-Might not be as skilled as Alex.
-Doesn’t take everything all that seriously.
Alex:
+ Likely the most skilled fighter.
+ Also armed with an enormous variety advantage, should have everything that Steve will have.
+ Could also have access to potions and tools, just like Steve.
-Steve is going to beat her in the building game.
-Has a bad habit of rushing into battle without a plan.
Zombie:
+ Strength in numbers.
+ Could spawn with armor, which should help it out quite a bit.
-Army isn’t always guaranteed to spawn, which is bad.
-Any Zombie without protection is getting fried the instant the sun shows up.
-Easily the worst strategist and likely not experienced or skilled at all.
-Very little variety to fall back on.
Enderman:
+ He’s really tall.
+ Enderman plushies are cuter than Zombie plushies and that’s a scientifically proven fact.
+ Teleportation makes it where Enderman likely holds the mobility advantage by a large margin.
+ Can likely negate any attempts Steve or Alex make at range camping him.
+ Possible case Enderman could BFR his enemies.
+ Unlike Zombie, he’s not going to spontaneously combust come daytime.
-Still gets nailed in the variety department by Steve and Alex.
-While BFR could stop Zombies, Steve and Alex have ways to return to the fight.
-Water.
The Predictions:
Loinut
This is a very interesting battle. The stat triangle doesn't really matter here, although I feel Enderman would have an edge.
Zombies are just kinda out of the running. Even if they could spawn other zombies, they have no answer to repeated Enderman kidnapping or lava traps/ TNT traps.
Enderman is the next to go. He would probably show off his deadliness killing the Zombies, making him a target. While he may be strong, his easily exploitable weakness to water means it's only a matter of time. A tag team of Steve and Alex will eventually finish it off.
This leaves us with our final two, Steve and Alex. This will be ferocious, but I think Steve will eventually take the win. He has an increased interest in alchemy and potions, which gives him a myriad of powerful tools to slay his foe with. Combined with the recklessness of Alex, Steve could easily get the advantage and succeed.
The Smashor
So, I have no idea who would win between Steve and Alex because I haven't seen enough Minecraft trailers to know the difference in what they typically use and their standard tactics. However, as they'd probably see each other as the biggest threats in the fight, they would most likely go after each other.
Zombie, meanwhile, basically has zero chance. Sure, they can summon other zombies in hard mode, but this is extremely unlikely to happen and even if they do use it, they would most likely die before they can do so.
Endermen have been shown in media like Story Mode and the books to be quite intelligent, not to mention they have one other massive advantage: Being a mini-boss in Dungeons. Comparing the Zombie's default health in Dungeons (55) to their health in actual Minecraft (20), and then comparing that to the Enderman's default health in Dungeons (2500), that means that an Enderman would have around a whopping 909 Health! To compare, The Wither, the entity with the most health in the game, only has 300 health. That's not even considering stronger Endermen in Dungeons, who can have up to 66,624 health in the game (Which would be around 24,226 health by regular Minecraft standards, easily dwarfing even the strongest bosses in mods like Orespawn).
With the Enderman's frankly absurd vitality, and with Steve and Alex having no way of knowing about this increased health pool, most likely Steve and Alex will tire themselves out fighting each other. While Dungeons is canon, Steven and Alex never appear in the game, meaning they wouldn't get access to weapons that make the Enderman's health pool more reasonable.
TL;DR: Zombie fucking dies, Steve and Alex fight each other, winner dies to Enderman.
Robot972
Alrighty. The first official battle royale for this channel! Guess this won’t work the same way as usual, so we’ll have to try this a bit differently.
I’m not going to talk about the zombie long, so I’ll just get this out of the way. They stand no chance, regardless of how many advantages they’re being given on a golden platter. Even a baby chicken jockey husk with fully enchanted diamond gear, 5% knockback resistance, hunger-inducement, immunity to sunlight, and the ability to spawn other zombies would not be able to win for one simple reason. Minecraft Undead are literally brain-dead. They’re ridiculously stupid and are incredibly easy to outsmart, leaving them as fodder to any player who knows what they’re doing, regardless of what weapons or armor they possess.
As for the Enderman, they’re far more of a threat when composited. The novels make Endermen FAR more capable than even Dungeons. While Dungeons adds a limited form of Slenderman’s perception manipulation as well as some resistances neither Steve nor Alex will likely have access to, the novels make endermen overall far more capable as fighters ON TOP of allowing them to teleport living beings with themself.
However, I still don’t see this being enough to take down the players, who have no reason not to be fully prepared for this battle. They might be able to take down Steve, since from what we’ve been told he’s a bit of a pussy in the books (and is a complete fucking jobber in the most recent update trailer), but even then we’ve still seen Steve taking on an entire swarm of hundreds of Nether enemies while in netherite gear on equal footing with Alex, so he’s clearly far from incompetent when actually prepared for a fight. Add in the fact he’s skilled with potions and it paints a very clear picture that Steve is just as if not better suited in fighting the Enderman than Alex, who, while certainly the confident combatant with swords and shields, doesn’t seem to be as focused on the other parts of Minecraft’s combat. But I still don’t think it’ll be enough. Dimensional teleportation can only get you so far when paired with people who just have better arsenals and are more skilled in combat than you. Biggest issue the Enderman face is that, from what I do know, the book paints a clear picture that even with all this new combat skill the race have, they’re still doomed to die if they leave the End for the Overworld.
That’s not to say Steve’s more creative approach is guaranteed to give him the win, however. There’s a reason that regulated Minecraft PVP is primarily focused on using axes, bows, and shields with very little wiggle room. It’s just better than an arsenal made entirely of random shit like TNT, pistons, and the like. But that’s regulated tournaments. When players are allowed to experiment with their arsenals they’re able to pull off some stupid broken techniques. For example, in the recent Minecraft Speedrunner VS 5 Hunter FINALE REMATCH, while being chased by Dream, it took BadBoyHalo 2/3 of a second to place down a block of obsidian and an End Crystal, which Dream struck and as such was blown up, killing him instantly, even when he was at full health with full iron armor. It’s clear that when skilled players are able to be just a bit more creative and aren’t stuck with a regulated arsenal, it really can work wonders. There’s a reason potions and golden apples are so broken after all.
So while I’m certainly rooting for Steve, I won’t be surprised if Alex does take the win here. But I’ll be damned if either the Zombie or Enderman take the win. With the right gear both are practically fodderized when faced against a player who knows what they’re doing, and no level of novel-enhanced combat is going to change that.

For the Minecraft BR, I'm along the train in which we all underestimate Zombie. I'm not sure if zombie is given any equipment, so zombie generally is screwed here. He lacks any Inteligence, AP, dies in on hit, and is slow. Moving on.
Enderman poses a little more of a threat to Alex and Steve if they don't have any armor on. However, this likely isn't the case for the most part, and can be easily dealt with for the general majority of the time. He's moreso a nuisance than anything else. Too many glaring flaws that any minecraft player will exploit, and a shield is his greatest weakness, next to water. Overall, he's going to die either first, given the players see him morenas a threat, or second, if he dispatches the zombie.
On to the players themselves, Steve and Alex. Alex, is often portrayed as a bit more hardcore than Steve, and usually is pretty skilled in terms of minecraft things. I could see her winning if Steve doesn't come up with a unique plan, or is distracted by something. Speaking of Steve... Steve is often portrayed as Naïve, but he isn't an idiot by any means. He can still get just as good armor as Alex, sans the fact that he is more peaceful in standard terms. However, he is portrayed as much more creative, and imaginative. Don't let his naïvity at times fool you: Creativity is a deadly weapon. Given he can utilize unique things and build contraptions that fit the scenario, I could very well see him winning the BR as a whole. Alex may win up close, but as we've seen countless times with things, your combat prowess is only the second most important thing you should have.
Overall I'm rooting for steve
Da Lunge Fish
Heya, this is Lunge. Before you ask, no, MKF4 totally didn’t take my mac&cheese hostage forcing me to write this.
So, Minecraft Battle Royale. Without further ado, definitely very close, cause they all scale to the same stats and so on, but anyway. Zombie dies. Dies Hard. Zombie is essentially a dumber, slower Steve with far less equipment (only armo) that dies from sun. The only way Zombie could win here is by pure luck, while a far more believable outcome is the Zombie simply burning in the sun.
Next up is Enderman. Those don’t die from the sun, are seemingly way smarter, and have insane mobility and reaction speed, since they can casually teleport from even a point blank arrow. Mobility is good, but just ultimately not enough, as the Endie can’t do lasting damage to full diamond Steve and Alex. He can avoid attacks fairly easily, but his teleportation has its cooldown, and both Steve and Alex have decent AoE to beat him if he tries to camp.
Now, the real debate comes into play, Steve vs Alex. Now, they are practically reskins of each other, same equipment, same stats. I heard that Alex apparently is more skilled as seen in advertisements, but I believe Steve actually takes this? Why? The answer may sound really stupid, but he just seems to be around for longer. Alex was implied to just join Steve at some point, she wasn’t there all the time. That means Steve is just more experienced with minecraft building and such. She (I’m not exactly sure, that’s what I heard) may have better H2H (or Sword to Sword, whatever you prefer to say), but Minecraft’s about creativity, so Steve’s superior building could screw her up big time. He could do a variety of things, like building a dynamite trap, a lava pit, or something involving a dropping anvil. But how’s Steve gonna build all that, you may ask? Well, Steve can take a decent amount of hits in the diamond armor, so all he needs is to just escape the battle briefly, not somewhere far and not for a long while, but still, disappear from Alex’s view. He can do it with a variety of ways, teleporting with the ender pearls, going invisibility, blinding. At this point, you may be confused. Doesn’t Alex have the same options? She does, but with Steve’s superior building and her superior H2H, he’ll simply receive greater benefits. She can also teleport and go invisible, but this doesn’t mean she can follow his teleportation or see his invisibility.
This is really close, but I believe Steve, aka the-skin-noobs-pick-cause-they-ain’t-creative-enough-to-pick-something-original takes this crafting battle.
Reallemon
There's a comic where a player in minecraft takes over the world. He's portrayed as super competent, builds and runs a huge empire on his own, and generally kicks everything's butt. Except the pig, which constantly thrashes him
Avoids every trap, repeatedly kills him, and is overall just completely untouchable
Like, it's enough that I think it makes sense to scale pig above the player
I'm making Pig win the BR now
MKF4
Hello again everyone, MK here.
We’ve got one of the most unpredictable fights ever happening next. A Minecraft Battle Royale, with the winner booking a freebie fight against Villager because we all know he stands no chance.
In order to get an initial idea of who wins, I got the absolutely brilliant idea to go ahead and board the U.S.S. Enterprise and use their scanners to see who should be the winner of this royale. I got this.
Frankly I expected something like this, but let’s dive into the match to see if my initial beliefs check out.
It’s been sometime since I last seriously played Minecraft, so I checked Minecraft Wiki to see if Zombie’s gotten anything new. Sadly, not much has changed, meaning at best Zombie might get a lucky spawn with enchanted iron weaponry and some friends. These rates are low, but for sake of benefit of the doubt, we’ll go with that.
First off we have to account for the fact that Zombies won’t always be this lucky. For one thing, leader Zombies have a 75% chance of a successful spawn operation, meaning that sometimes they won’t get to unleash “the gang” on the others. Perhaps more importantly, Zombie’s aren’t exactly going to have head armor all the time. And guess what happens to a Zombie outside without head armor?
Frankly, I doubt Bracket will base an entire verdict on that one rather nasty weakness, and I agree it shouldn’t be. But it doesn’t help the case much. Regardless, the fact of the matter is that an army can still be countered, Zombies rarely have good utensils, little combat skill, the army won’t even show up sometimes, and the sun is an OHKO. I don’t think Zombie is winning this.
And it should be noted I’m not the only one who thinks this. Looking through the blog, literally everyone has been in full agreement that no matter what he gets, Zombie is stuffed. We’ve had a lot of different verdicts and ideas, but nobody has thought Zombie stands any chance at all.
Next I’ll look at Enderman. Enderman will obviously hold the size advantage for this battle, which I suppose is beneficial. I suppose it’s also the one I’m rooting for, because why not.
Enderman automatically one-ups Zombie in not being turned into a barbecue the second it walks outside during daytime. Useful, this negates the idea that Steve or Alex could camp it to death. Also teleporting away from projectiles is a very beneficial ability, Enderman’s enemies will have to get up close to win. I’m not certain one Enderman could beat an entire army of Zombies, but I think it is possible.
However, Enderman doesn’t have a lot of solid win conditions. It can’t get armor or weaponry, meaning it has to beat everyone with its hands. Which isn’t a reliable way to win in a scenario like this. I will go ahead and address one decently common idea, that being Enderman BFRing everyone to win.
If we were focusing entirely on the games, I would consider this idea absolutely ridiculous. I don’t know about anyone else, but Endermen have never teleported me into a lava-pit when I’m playing Minecraft.
However, the books apparently do give Enderman the ability, making it quite possible for him to pull it off. This does create a way for him to stop the Zombie, who frankly can’t do anything about it if Enderman feels like dropping Zombie into a volcano.
Steve and Alex on the other hand are going to be way harder to stop. Ender Pearls and Elytra are both useful tools for travel that could help if Enderman attempts a BFR, and could help them get back to the battlefield.
Therefore, I don’t think Enderman has ways to win, or at least stop Steve or Alex.
However, there is one little item that should be noted. The books. Yeah, those Minecraft books have all sorts of useful information on Enderman apparently, maybe something in there lets it win.
I’m just going to look it up real quick and see what I can find.
Drat.
Sadly, I don’t really have any reliable means to finding book data on Minecraft.
The research team is likely reading this prediction blog smugly, sitting back and chuckling evilly while looking at their stacks of Minecraft books they got off E-Bay. “Haha, look at this chump, can’t even use obscure Minecraft content to find data on Enderman. What a loser.”
Let me have my head canons.
Therefore, onward I go to the last two fighters. Who wins a fight between Steve and Alex?
How should I know?
Jokes aside, from a gameplay perspective this is true. Anything you can do as Steve you can do as Alex, and vice-versa. But why do I think they get this far in the first place?
Pretty simple, variety and weaponry.
Zombie’s possible iron junk is no match for diamond weapons, bows, TNT, the works. Ender Pearls help travel, counter BFR in the unlikely event Enderman actually does pull that off somehow, and look cool. The Totem of Undying means Steve or Alex could pull a Mipha’s Grace, though I don’t think it’s going to be quite as reliable as Link’s resurrection options. With all this and more, Steve and Alex should easily get to the top.
That just drags us to one of the strangest ways to determine a victor in VS. Debating, personality. We have to take it into consideration with Bracket’s ruleset, being a pretty unique one compared to other shows where they’re usually just blood-lusted.
But it’s honestly really hard to decide who holds the advantage here.
In the event the fight becomes close-ranged, I feel Alex is going to get the advantage. She’s the more skilled fighter, and should be able to take Steve down in such a scenario.
However, in long range circumstances, Steve might have what it takes to stop her. Steve is much more creative, and could come up with ways to stop Alex from getting close. Or he could just bait her into a trap. Also useful is that Steve is apparently better with potions, meaning it’s more likely he’ll be able to buff his stats and possibly lower his opponent’s ability. As strong as Alex is, I don’t think she’d be able to take Steve if he hits her with a splash potion of weakness or something like that.
This scenario kind of reminds me of Wario vs. Lucas, where one fighter needs to close the gap in order to win. Last time Wario had what was needed in order to lock Lucas into combat and win, but the question is if Alex can do the same.
The problem is Steve and Alex should have similar stats, and Steve will have everything Alex has in his own arsenal. Unlike with Wario and his miniature armada of vehicles to close the gap, Alex doesn’t have anything Steve can’t counter. And Steve is the more creative thinker, so it’s more likely he’d have ways to stop Alex from getting close than it is she’d think of a way to get in.
So ultimately, I wouldn’t be surprised if Bracket gives the verdict to Alex, but I personally feel that the victory should go to Steve this time around. Regardless, our first 3D episode should be a fun time for us all to enjoy.
Conclusion:
Well, that’s all the verdicts we have this time. I would again like to thank everyone for helping out with this blog, and we hope you enjoyed reading it. Enjoy the Minecraft Battle Royale and have a great day!
